Find out when and where the Personnel Board Meeting is being held?
Go to the City Clerk’s Boards and Commissions page and select Personnel Board or call Human Resources Management at 510-620-6602.

What is your address and hours?
Our address is 450 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 310, Richmond, CA 94804. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Which bus line runs by City Hall?
Bus # 72M runs up Macdonald Avenue. Get off at 25th Street. Walk towards Barrett Avenue, and you will see our building.

Where do I get an application?
You can receive an application by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Human Resources Management Department, 450 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 310, Richmond, CA 94804 or apply online by visiting the
City of Richmond Job Opportunities page.

Can I send you an interest card to keep on file?
A job interest card is available online. Fill out the requested information and a personal email will automatically be sent each time a job is posted within the professional interest chosen by you on the
City of Richmond Job Interest Page.

Can I send you a resume?
No. We do not accept resumes in lieu of applications. You must submit a completed City of Richmond application for a specific, open position to be considered for all job openings.

Can I fill out an application and put OPEN on the position line so that I can be considered for any job that becomes available?
We do not accept applications that have OPEN on the position line. You must apply for positions that we are recruiting for at the time you submit your application.

Can I bring my application to the Human Resources Department, or can it be mailed?
You may submit an application in person by bringing it to our Human Resources Department or by mail. The application must be received by the Human Resources Department prior to the closing date.

Can I fax or e-mail my application?
No. Either the original application with your original signature must be received by the Human Resources Department by mail or in person before the closing date. The other option is to apply online by visiting the
City of Richmond Job Opportunities page.

Where do I obtain a typing certificate?
You may obtain a typing certificate at most temporary agencies. The City of Richmond Employment and Training department offers typing test by pre-arrangement only (phone number 510-307-8014). Please visit the Human Resources Department to receive a typing pass. We do not accept online typing certificates.
15.
What are the guidelines for typing certificates?
Each certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of submission. Each certificate must include the following: name of the school, agency or institution conducting the testing; the equipment used (typewriter/computer); the gross and net number of words, and the number of errors; the signature of the individual responsible for the testing; and the testing date. SPECIAL NOTE: On-line or website-generated typing certificates DO NOT fall within the specified guidelines as stipulated above, and will be rejected if submitted.

What is the hiring process?
All applications are reviewed by the assigned analyst after the closing date. Once it has been determined that the applicant is eligible to move forward in the examination process, the applicant is either invited to an examination to determine skill level or in some cases invited to an interview. After the results of the exam/interview are tabulated, the applicant will be placed on an employment list that is active for two (2) years after the date of establishment.

If I am applying for a Police Officer Trainee or Communications Dispatcher position, do you accept T-Scores from outside agencies?
Yes. We do accept T-Scores from outside agencies as long as it was acquired within one (1) year. You must attach the T-Score documentation to your application upon submission.
19.
What is the passing T-Score needed to submit with my application so that I will not have to take the P.O.S.T. exam again?
The minimum score required by the City of Richmond is 48.
