Annual, Community Supported Work Experience Program
The Youth Summer Employment Program offers Richmond youth, ages 15 to 21, the chance to work in a variety of local jobs. Our youth participants will gain professional experience working in government agencies and private businesses.
Eight Annual Summer Youth Employment Program

Coordinated by YouthWORKS and sponsored by the City of Richmond, Chevron, Mechanics Bank, Levine-Richmond Terminal, Richmond Pacific Railroad, Simms Metals, Contra Costa County Economic Opportunity Council and the Council of Industries the SYEP provides Richmond youth, age 15 to 21, with up to 100 hours of career path work experience over the summer months. It includes collaborations with West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) Special Education Department, RichmondSOL, Student Conservation Association, Coronado YMCA, Rising Sun Energy Services, WCCUSD Linked Learning Program and other Richmond based youth serving organizations. YouthWORKS will place 225 Richmond youth into these opportunities during the summer of 2013.
