Recycling

Richmond residents receive a blue cart for recyclables that is serviced every other week. Reduce your waste by putting all recyclables into the blue cart for collection:

What Goes Into the Blue Cart for Recycling?
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Paper - newspaper, junk mail, envelopes, magazines, catalogs, cereal & shoe boxes, colored & white paper, telephone books, paper bags
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastic - milk, juice, soda & water bottles, narrow-neck bottles
  • Metal - aluminum, steel, tin cans, empty aerosol cans, aluminum foil & pans

Please place the blue cart next to the curb the night before or on the morning of collection by 6:00AM. Empty carts should be placed out of public view by 7:00PM the same day.
