Project Description
The Miraflores Housing Development Project would redevelop an approximately 14-acre site with up to 336 dwelling units in a mix of affordable and market-rate housing, resulting in a population of approximately 971 residents. The affordable component of the project would consist of 110 affordable rental units for seniors, and one manager’s unit. The market-rate component would include up to 226 single-family units. The project would also incorporate design features reflecting the site’s history as the site of three former nurseries that were part of the Japanese American flower-growing industry in Richmond. The Miraflores Housing Development would include the remediation of existing soil and groundwater contamination on-site, and the restoration of Baxter Creek. The site is bounded by South 45th Street to the west, Wall Avenue to the south, Interstate 80 to the east, and the BART tracks to the north. |
