Medical Marijuana Collectives

In light of recent California court decisions, on November 15, 2011 the Richmond City Council will provide direction to staff regarding the medical marijuana collective permitting process.  We will post the results of this meeting on this website as soon as they are received.

Background

In 2010, the City Council adopted Richmond Municipal Code Chapter 7.102 which sets forth the criteria for permitting up to three (3) Medical Marijuana Collectives citywide.  In addition, the City Council adopted Resolution 136-10 setting forth the rating criteria to be used in evaluating applications and Resolution 9-11 establishing the application and regulatory fees for medical marijuana collectives.

Applications Under Review

The City of Richmond is not currently accepting applications for Medical Marijuana Collective permits. The City is reviewing applications that were submitted by the May 2, 2011 deadline and anticipates conducting hearings to consider permit applications after the City Council's summer recess.
