The focus of neighborhood strategies is to implement the health policy elements at the neighborhood level. As a pilot project area, over the last 24 months the City has been working with two elementary schools in two high-need neighborhoods - Iron Triangle and Belding Woods - to identify improvements that are consistent with the Health and Wellness Element. This has allowed the City to proactively address health within a specified area and identify strategies and lessons for replication in other areas.
This initiative has lead to the development of Neighboorhood Actions Plans which prioritize a series of projects with community members and coordination between City and County.
