The repair of the Dornan Drive Tunnel begins in mid-January and consists of the rehabilitation of the existing concrete surfacesand installation of a drainage system to divert ground water into weep channels.
Construction activities require that one of the two lanes of traffic be closed for the duration of the project. Traffic lights are installed at each end of the tunnel to allow only one-way traffic through at a time. Expect delays in passing through the tunnel.
There will be limited pedestrian and bicycle access through the tunnel during construction hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The project is expected to complete by May 2013.
