Mission
The mission of the City’s of Richmond’s Paratransit Program is to provide safe and reliable transportation for seniors (65 and older) and individuals with disabilities so as to improve their access to community services and activities, to decrease their experience of social isolation, and to enhance their abilities to remain living independently in their chosen communities.
Services
The Richmond Paratransit Program (a division within the Department of Recreation) provides low-cost transportation services to seniors and persons with disabilities who reside in the City of Richmond and the unincorporated areas of East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Kensington, North Richmond, and Rollingwood.
Among the programs offered by the Paratransit division are:
- Demand-response
- Individual Trips
- Group Trips
- Special Purpose Group Tours
- Shuttle Services
- Nutrition Site Transportation
- Subsidized taxi program
Paratransit Registration
If you would like to register for the Richmond Paratransit program, you can send, call, or email your request to us.
Purchase
If you are a current client of the Richmond Paratransit program, you can purchase an ID card, van books, and taxi scrips at the cashier’s window located on the second floor of City Hall (450 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA 94804).
- ID Card – $2.00
- Van Books – $30.00 (book contains ten $3.00 one-way tickets)
- Taxi Scrip – $15.00 (scrip book contains $30.00 worth of scrip)
