It is an honor for me to represent so many hard working men and women whose efforts have made a huge impact on reducing the crime rate and improving the quality of life for the citizens of Richmond.  As the District Commander, I find it reassuring to know there are numerous sergeants and officers working the streets of North Richmond and the historic Iron Triangle day and night.

When driving on Macdonald Avenue, I see the improvements that have been made over the past few years.  From the Richmond Transit Village to the Lillie Mae Jones Plaza, redevelopment efforts have transformed blighted and vacant properties into a wonderful business district.  The recently re-opened Nevin Community Center and the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts are both offering classes and activities for young people in an effort to broaden their horizons and explore their talents.  The most dramatic example of how progress is being made is the remodeled Nevin Park, formerly known as 4th Street Park, offering a safe place for children to play.
 

I am pleased to see the crime rate continue to decline.  The results are evident as the numerous community groups and non-profit organizations unify the citizens against violence. Attendance at Neighborhood Council meetings is at an all-time high. The Police Department is also able to reach citizens with crime prevention materials through Facebook, e-mail and this website.
 

While it is true we are seeing success in reducing crime, we must be vigilant in keeping our community safe.  I encourage you to reach out to the men and women listed below.  They want to hear from you about how we can improve our service and strengthen our partnership.  It is the only way for us to continue accomplishing our mission.
