Michele Seville has been serving the City of Richmond, CA as Arts & Culture Manager since May 2006. She sat on the Arts & Culture Commission and the Public Art Advisory Committee for Richmond for eight years, and served as support staff for the former Arts & Culture Manager, Virginia Rigney for two years.
Michele’s personal mission is building community through the arts. She is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, where she majored in printmaking. Prior to her current position as Arts & Culture Manager for Richmond her experience in the arts included multiple careers as a graphic artist, festival and event planner, paralegal, National Park Ranger for the Rosie the Riveter World War II HomeFront National Historical Park, event planner, Operations Manager for Richmond’s historic Ford Building, public art project manager, and concert promoter. Drawing from a background of musicians and artists, Seville has a passion for world travel and cultural immersion -- which she applies directly to working in the arts in the Bay Area.
