The North Richmond Mobile Tool Library is a free service that lends tools to North Richmond residents and North Richmond-serving non-profit organizations. We bring our tool library to spots around North Richmond, with the goal of reducing blight on public and private properties.
Check out some of our milestones below, follow us on social media, and subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on all of our endeavors!

Bringing our Tool Trailer to Life:
A collaboration with Rebuilding Together East Bay-North helped us modify the interior of our trailer. Our trailer has come a long way since the beginning. We are now able to hang and store a variety of tools inside for transport! To the left is the transformation of an empty trailer into our mobile tool library for the community to rent free tools from in the future.
Meeting the Community:
We have been incorporating community feedback, conducting giveaways, and taking part in other community events. Engaging with other people of Richmond is important to us. This is how we ensure we meet the needs of our MTL members, and with our trailer now being finished, you will see us at even more community events!
We held our soft launch at North Richmond Earth Day events on April 22 and April 23, 2022!
Non-profits and public agencies serving North Richmond can now become members of the North Richmond Mobile Tool Library, which allows you to reserve our library for your volunteer events!
New non-profit and public agency members must be over the age of 18 and complete the following steps in person:
Present current photo identification, such as an unexpired California Driver’s License or a current State/Military Identification Card.
Present proof of employment with a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status or public agency that serves North Richmond through one (1) of the following: paystub dated within the last 30 days, or employment verification letter dated within the last 30 days. Staff may contact the employer to verify employment.
Create a myTurn account with staff.
Confirm your e-mail address and phone number.
Read the Rules and Regulations.
Read and electronically sign the Waiver and Indemnification Form.
On a case-by-case basis, these steps may take place via e-mail and/or video conference.
The North Richmond Mobile Tool Library is currently working towards our grand opening to North Richmond residents. For now, the library is only available to North Richmond-serving non-profits for volunteer beautification events on a reservation basis, so we do not have regular hours of operation.
In the meantime, catch us at community events or subscribe to our newsletter to learn more about how we operate!
