The City of Richmond's Library and Cultural Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and community-oriented arts professional for the position of Arts and Culture Manager. Under the direction of the Library and Cultural Services Director, the Arts and Culture Manager works closely with other City departments, commissions, boards, artists, art nonprofits, governmental agencies, businesses, and the community groups to develop and administer city-wide arts programs and activities; and manage public art projects.   The Arts and Culture Manager will administer contracts with nonprofit organizations, artists, professional service providers, and others; manage and administer budgets and grants; and perform related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for the arts in municipal government together with proven program and project management experience.  Richmond has a longstanding 1.5% for art resolution for City capital projects and a new 1% art ordinance for private development. The City of Richmond maintains 100 pieces of public art throughout the city.
