On Tuesday, October 20, City Council voted 6-1 to move forward with a food ware ordinance.
The ordinance will return to City Council for final vote in November. With a tentative effective date of July 1, 2010, Richmond restaurants, food vendors, organizations, and others serving food to the public will be required to use biodegradable or compostable food ware.
