Candidate under the direct supervision of the Port Captain and an assigned Training Captain will gain experience through training of the intricacies of Vessel and Barge maneuvering, Port Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, Lines of Business understanding, and Safety. Candidates will receive training and experience on Conventional, VSP and ASD propulsion systems, various towing configurations, and Ship Assist methods. Candidate will receive training and experience in rigging, synthetic line care and utilization, ISM, SMS, VMP, AWO, RCP systems, and Leadership Development.
