Civic Center Farmers' Market
On Friday, March 1, Richmond Environmental and Health Initiatives and Self Sustaining Communities are hosting a Fruit Tree and Garden Seed Giveaway. The event will begin at 12:00PM at the Civic Center Farmers' Market until supplies last. Staff will be on site alongside Tom Burchell of Burchell Nursery, our generous donor, to provide a wide variety of trees and seeds and answer questions. Staff will also be providing home compost pails and reusable bags free of charge. The giveaway is open to all members of the community.
CYES Job Announcements
California Youth Energy Services (CYES) is a program of Rising Sun Energy Center, a non-profit organization established in 1994. They provide FREE energy conservation services to communities throughout the Bay Area. The program is designed to provide high school and college students with hands-on job training and a paid employment experience in the growing green industry. They are currently accepting applications for the position of Energy Specialist in our Bay Area sites, including Richmond. Energy Specialists will receive extensive training in job skills; no prior experience with energy conservation work is necessary.
