Ada Marisol Recinos is currently a Richmond City Councilmember and nonprofit consultant. Most recently she was the Financial Sustainability Director for Prospera Co-ops an organization that partners with entrepreneurial Latinas to build cooperatives by providing them with culturally relevant training, workshops, technical assistance and coaching. Ada has done community work in various roles as a researcher, strategist, trainer, organizer, event planner, web developer and coach in the fight for equal rights for women, the food insecure, immigrants, and folks of color.
She is an Alumna of the Congressional Hunger Center Emerson, Hispanics in Philanthropy Next Generation Latino Leadership and a NALCAB Colegio programs. She is an active member of the Richmond Progressive Alliance Steering Committee, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Latino Leadership of Oakland. She currently serves as a Board Director for the West Contra Costa Transportation Authority Committee, as well as a City Council liaison for the Economic Development Commission and Personnel Board for the City of Richmond. Formerly she served as Acting Chair of the Human Rights and Human Relations Commission. Her hobbies include playing extremely difficult sudoku, trying new foods and traveling to new places. Ada is a first-generation college graduate with a B.A. in Global Information and Social Enterprise Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
