The Pretreatment Program is responsible for:

• Providing excellent service to the industrial and commercial businesses we serve

• Protecting the quality of the water bodies in and around Richmond

• Ensuring the wastewater discharges into the sewer system do not impair the collection system, the treatment process, or the water bodies to which they discharge

• Resolving the challenges in this arena to the best of our ability

• Issuing permits to wastewater dischargers in the sewer district
