Clipper Card
The Clipper Card is a reloadable all-in-one transit card used for electronic transit fare payment for the San Francisco Bay Area. The card can hold transit passes, cash value, parking value, or any combination. The cash value works on all participating transit systems, whereas passes and tickets are specific to each system.
Types of Clipper Cards
Clipper offers a card for Adults, discount cards for Youth and Seniors, and a RTC Clipper Card for customers with disabilities.

Get a Clipper Card
Adults: Order a Clipper card online, and you should receive it within 7 business days of your order. Adult Clipper cards cost $3 and the fee is waived if you set up Autoload when you purchase your card online. Adult Clipper cards can also be purchased in person at Walgreens, Whole Foods, and other participating retailers. Find your closest retail location.
Youth: Ages 5 and older are eligible for a free Youth Clipper card. Youth clipper cards allow youth to receive discounts on monthly passes, ride books, tickets, cash value fares and transfers. The maximum age to qualify for discounted fares varies by transit agency. To demonstrate your eligibility for a Youth clipper card you will need one of the following: Birth certificate or passport, State-issued identification, Permanent resident card, Student ID with date of birth, medical benefit card with date of birth, military dependent card with date of birth. To apply for a card, download and complete the application. To get a card immediately, you can apply in person at a Clipper Customer Service Center or participating transit partner location. The nearest East Bay Clipper Customer Service Center is located at 1600 Franklin St. Oakland and is open Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.
Senior: Ages 65 and older are eligible for a free Senior Clipper card. Senior clipper cards allow seniors to receive discounts on monthly passes, ride books, tickets, cash value fares and transfers. Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Clipper Card: The RTC Clipper Card is a version of clipper created for passengers under 65* with qualifying disabilities. All disabled customers who wish to receive transit discounts (monthly passes, ride books, tickets, cash value fares) must have RTC Clipper card. The RTC Clipper card is a photo identification card. You must apply for an RTC Clipper card in person at a participating transit agency. The nearest East Bay Clipper Customer Service Center is located at 1600 Franklin St. Oakland and is open Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.
Add Value to Clipper Card
