What comes after the CERT Academy?
CERT training and learning does not stop at the CERT Academy graduation. It is very important for CERTs to remain active and continuously engaged in practicing and learning new skills.
Ways in which this can happen is by doing any of the following:
- Promote CERT and/or community preparedness outreach efforts at local neighborhood events.
- Take part in city-sponsored or coordinated drills and exercises.
- Sharpen your CERT skills with refresher classes when they become available.
- Take specific classes that supplement CERT skills, such as emergency radio classes, CPR and Stop the Bleed.
