2.  Make a choice from the menu and enter the corresponding key


  • Press [1] to schedule an inspection
  • Press [2] to cancel an inspection
  • Press [3] to check inspection results
  • Press [0] to speak to department staff

3.    Follow the spoken prompts for entering your permit number, inspection code, and other details

  • "RESCHEDULE" to reschedule an inspection
  • "CANCEL" to cancel an inspection
  • "RESULTS" to obtain inspection results

2.  Send it to 866-535-4016 to opt in to receiving messages and begin scheduling.


    3.  Follow the interactive prompts for entering your permit number and inspection code.

Additional Information for Final Inspections


Please note that some projects require approval and a subsequent sign-off by agencies other than the Building Division. You are required to obtain these sign-offs on your permit card prior to scheduling your Building Division final inspection.

Depending on your project work scope sign-offs from any or all of the following agencies may be required:

  • Sanitary District:
    • Richmond 510-620-6594
    • Stege 510-524-4668

*If your projects approved plans include an approval stamp by any of the above agencies then sign-off by that agency on your permit card is required before scheduling your Building Division Final inspection.
