Public Safety (Police and Fire)

  • All public safety departments will be available, with modified public access.
  • The Police Department lobby will NOT be open to the public. Please call 911 for emergency services, use the phone outside of the lobby doors, or contact our non-emergency line 510-233-1214 to file a report.
  • The Fire Department administration office is closed to the public. Please call 911 for emergency services, or email fire@ci.richmond.ca.us for non-emergency inquiries. Visit our Fire page for more information.

Richmond Rent Program

  • EMERGENCY ORDER PROHIBITING EVICTIONS
    The Director of Emergency Services issued an Order, effective March 17, 2020, which provides that during the period of local emergency declared in response to COVID-19, no landlord shall take action to evict a tenant for certain reasons, including nonpayment of rent due to the financial impact of COVID-19, and other no-fault evictions (Owner Move-In, Withdrawal from the Rental Market (Ellis Act), Substantial Repairs, Temporary Tenancy) unless necessary for the health and safety of tenants, neighbors, or the landlord.
