General Crimes Unit Detectives are responsible for initiating inquiries and conducting follow-up investigation to reported crimes, preparing cases for criminal filing and prosecution and assisting Patrol with logistical and proactive responses to developing crime patterns. General Crimes may include, but are not limited to, robberies, felony assaults, home invasions, firearm investigations, burglaries, grand thefts, and identity thefts, thefts committed by fraud, computer crimes and other high tech crimes.
The General Crimes Unit handles only stolen and recovered vehicle-related issues. Any other vehicle related inquiries should contact the Traffic Unit.
