Pt. Molate Public Workshops

The public is invited to participate in a series of workshops to discuss proposed land use alternatives for the Point Molate site. A feasibility analysis of the proposed alternatives will be included in a report to be submitted to the City Council sometime in December 2010. The City of Richmond Planning and Building Services Department will facilitate three public meetings along with the consulting firm Design, Community & Environment.

The first meeting was held on August 4, 2010, to discuss site constraints and evaluation criteria, and explain submittal requirements for ideas and proposals to be received from the public between August 5 and September 15, 2010.
summary of that meeting is available at the City's website. At the second meeting, held on September 8, 2010, participants submitted land use alternatives verbally.

The third meeting was held on November 17, 2010. DC&E provided a summary of the proposed land use alternatives and evaluations of the alternatives. A report summarizing the alternatives and evaluation is now available at the City's website. Summary notes from the meeting are also now available.

The City Council is scheduled to discuss the report at its December 7, 2010, meeting, starting at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Community Services Building, 440 Civic Center Plaza Richmond, CA 94804

Workshop Documents
The deadline to submit alternatives as part of the public workshop process has passed. All alternatives submitted are being catalogued, summarized, and reviewed according to the evaluation criteria. A report including the results of these efforts will be available in November. Please note that following the meeting held on August 4, 2010, revisions were made to the evaluation criteria for land use alternatives. The revised criteria are available here. The Meeting Handout provides background on the project, describes site constraints and outlines the project alternatives contained in the DEIS/R.
