The Richmond Planning Commission (TPC) prepares, adopts, and maintain a long range comprehensive General Plan for the physical growth and development of the City of Richmond and areas related directly to the City of Richmond. TPC also prepares and adopts plans for the conservation or clearance, rebuilding and redevelopment of those areas of the City of Richmond suffering from blighted conditions. In addition, TPC serves as an advisory body to the City Council on matters related to the city's growth and development and on such other matters as may be requested by the Richmond City Council.
As of the November 7, 2024 meeting, Jonathan Harrison is Chair, Bruce Brubaker is Vice Chair, and Gay Timmons is Secretary. Other members of the Planning commission are Alexander Golovets and Rachel Lockett. There are currently two vacancies.
