IMPORTANT: FEMA and FCC will be conducting a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:20 am (PT). Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios, and Cell Phones to ensure that the systems remain effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly national emergencies.

Sandbags

City of Richmond Sites: Richmond residents can fill sandbags at the following locations: Bayview Library on Hartnett Avenue or at the back gate of the Corporation Yard located on Harbour Way next to the Greenway. Senior or disabled citizens can call the Streets division of Public Works at (510) 231-3011 for sandbag delivery requests (limit 10).

Contra Costa County Site: West County Detention Facility-5555 Giant Highway, Richmond Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Bring a shovel. Bags are in a large gray plastic trash bin. The sand cradle is on the south side of the facility parking area.
