23033 - Carlson Crosstown Project Phase II 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project intends to complete Carlson Blvd Crosstown Connection Improvements Project from Broadway to Tehama Ave by installing bicycle lanes, pedestrian ramp facilities, bus shelter connections for future make-ready installation, asphalt paving, sidewalk and root repairs, signing and striping, and streetlight study. Broadway to Tehama will feature Class II bike lanes, and class IV bike lanes where feasible. This corridor will be upgraded to enhance safety and improve traffic flow along Carlson Boulevard. The new bikeway will connect existing bike lanes on Carlson Boulevard at San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito north to Broadway, near Richmond Civic Center.

Other Projects (Carlson & Bayview):

23040 - Bayview to BART (Carlson & Bayview) - PM Hillal Hamdan

The Bayview to BART effort is currently in planning and will create a safe and comfortable walking and biking route connecting the Del Norte BART station to the San Francisco Bay Trail. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin Spring 2027 and be completed by Spring of 2028. It will entail Class II bike lanes on Potrero Ave as well as build Class IV protected bike lanes on the Bayview Ave overpass over I-580, curb ramps, sidewalk repairs, and pavement rehabilitation. Final limits are in active discussion with Caltrans.

23035 Traffic Calming Program

Cutting & Carlson Section 130 - PM Mike Owyang

• Improve at grade pedestrian and bicycle crossing with railway tracks. Safety and visibility improvements will be implemented within the vicinity of this intersection and railway.
